Doctors of the World John Demsey, President of Estee Lauder and I joined at Skylight Studios to honor Kofi Anan. The United Nations secretary-general was awarded the 2005 Health and Human Rights Award by the Doctors of the World organization. “Iman and I are competitors in a sense,” said Demsey about me, as I emceed the evening, “But we are united in our appreciation of some things.” Yes, indeed.

Shop Etc. September issue of Shop Etc magazine’s major story is on “What’s chic…” and I was one of the fashion/beauty luminaries who was asked this question. The Wayuu Taya Foundation Benefit Dinner Honoring Lila Downs, Edward James Olmos %26 Russell Simmons I hosted for the 3rd year this foundation benefit dinner and auction for my dear friend, model/actress and UNESCO Artist for Peace, Patricia Velasquez. She created the foundation in order to improve the quality of life of Latin American indigenous communities. It was a very successful evening with music by Lila Downs.
