At Serge Normant Salon
SERGE NORMANT AT JOHN FRIEDA My dear friend hair guru to the stars, Serge Normant, who also tirelessly donated his time and expertise and love for our entire campaign of I AM AFRICAN for Keep a Child Alive opened his salon at the ever fashionable Meatpacking District in New York. The event was hosted by Sarah Jessica Parker and Ellen Barking, 2 ladies who definitely know when they meet a great hairdresser. But the thing about Serge is that everyone loves him because he is so NOT pretentious and all he wants is the “woman” to shine and look beautiful. And that he does INDEED!

With Patricia Velasquez, founder of Wayuu Taya foundation
THE WAYUU TAYA FOUNDATION I hosted this year”s annual benefit for this amazing foundation that gets stronger every year! It was created in order to help improve the lives of Latin-America indigenous people while maintaining and respecting their traditions, culture and beliefs. Since its inception, the Foundation has helped save the lives of over 1000 children and has created a self-sustainable program aimed at improving the lives of women through education and earning capabilities. Famed lensman Sante D’Orazio donated one of my photo that he took and it fetched $7000! Thank you, Sante!

In a Stella McVartney suit and Fred Leighton jewels
THE MET COSTUME INSTITUTE BENEFIT The annual Costume Institute gala is never a casual affair, of course, but as the extra drama of dressing in the spirit of the celebrated Paul Poiret – aka the self proclaimed “King of Fashion” – and it becomes Party of the Year. I knew there will be tons of long gowns and wanted something different … so I opted for a Stella McCartneys aville row white 3 piece dinner suit and was adorned by Fred Leighton jewels and carried a high gloss black lacquer with silver top walking cane…. Very Chic!
