CFDA My dear friend and artist/jeweler extraordinaire of many years Robert Lee Morris received a well deserved Life Time Achievement Award from the CFDA this year! He is truly today”s most sought after jewelry designer and has created thru the years jewelry that were incorporated as part of the outfits for Donna Karan as well as Calvin Klein. I was delighted for him and he created this beautiful necklace for me for the occasion which I wore it with a red Donna Karan dress… it was spectacular.

SWEET TART We celebrated my dear friend Padma Lakhshmi for her double venture for the new season of Bravo”s Top Chef and her new culinary book Tangy, Tart, Hot and Sweet at the hot new joint The Roof garden at the Gramercy Park Hotel. All the adjectives of the title of her book could also be describing her! The food that was served were recipes from her book and they were DELICIOUS!

BLACK GIRLS RULE! I am the guest editor of the highly anticipated Black Girls Rule issue of Trace magazine coming out in July. I was very nervous as I wanted to create a bangin’ portfolio in celebration of the new hot black models and didn’t want to leave anyone out. I also wanted to create a profound, thought provoking and new topical issues that is current and important in our daily lives.
